 I ’m also having trouble figuring out how the combination of “海”（umi）and “女”（onna）becomes “ama”.LOL!!
Ama huts originally served as places for ama divers to rest andwarm their bodies before and after diving. They usually use a chisel or catch them with bare hands.In the two cities, ama huts were renovated to include irori fireplace (opena hearth) at the center for tourists where ama divers treat them by broiling seafood fresh from the sea.

 
 
 
 
 
 
While enjoying the food, guests can also listen to ama divers talk about their diving practices and lifestyles.Divers include Kachido, who swims by herself to the relatively shallow beach, Sappa, who rides the ferry to a seacoast diving
